AISF Burns Effigy of State Government in Hanamkonda

Direct Voice: Hanamkonda chief bureau Vijay kumar Illandula, September 7: Alleging that the state government is adopting a negligent attitude towards resolving issues in the education sector, the AISF Hanamkonda District Committee burnt an effigy of the state government at KU Junction on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, AISF Hanamkonda District Secretary Bhashaboyina Santosh criticised the government for failing to pay adequate attention to the various problems confronting the education sector across the state. He demanded that the government take immediate and key decisions keeping the future of students in mind.

He urged the government to allocate a separate minister for the Education Department during the Cabinet expansion and give comprehensive attention to issues concerning education. He also demanded the immediate withdrawal of GO No. 97, which, he alleged, would adversely affect the future of polytechnic students.

Santosh further demanded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy immediately withdraw his remarks regarding the abolition of intermediate education. Instead of considering its abolition, the government should strengthen intermediate education, as any move to discontinue it could adversely affect the future of students, he said.

He also demanded the immediate release of pending student fee reimbursement amounts across the state and clearance of pending bills related to welfare hostels. The government should take responsibility for the difficulties being faced by students and educational institutions due to the pending payments, he said.

He further called upon the government to strictly implement fee regulation laws to prevent private educational institutions from collecting excessive fees and to curb the commercialisation of education.

Santosh warned that if the government failed to resolve students’ issues immediately, the AISF would launch more intensive student agitations across the state.
